How to Make Black Bean Burgers
These vegetarian smash burgers will even satisfy you meat lovers. It certainly did for Dan and me!
What You’ll Need for 4 servings:
1 can of black beans
1/2 orange bell pepper
1/4 onion
5 garlic cloves
handful of cilantro
1 egg
1 tbsp paprika
1/2 tbs pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
3/4 cup rice crumbs or bread crumbs
1/4 cup shredded cheese (any cheese)
Sliced cheese
Burger buns
Any burger fixins’ you love
How to Cook It:
Mash black beans with a potato masher or fork until pasty
Finely chop bell pepper, onion, garlic & cilantro in food processor & mix with mashed black beans
Scramble egg with pepper, paprika, and olive oil
Mix in bread crumbs and cheese
Toast buns with mayo and mustard
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in pan at medium high then drop in patties. After 2 minutes flip and let the crust develop for another 1 minute
Add sliced cheese and cover lid for 1 minute to melt
Stack your burger with your favorite toppings!
